Safety Advice
Health & Safety
Patterson Oil employs a full time DGSA and works with customers and the H.S.E (Health and Safety Executive) to improve standards within our company. H.S.E regulations are extensive and sometimes complex however www.hse.gov.uk gives advice on all aspects.
Working at height: More stringent regulations were brought out in 2005 covering working at height. These regulations cover the use of ladders, provision of work platforms, guard rails, fall arrest systems and in many cases questions the need to work at height.
Patterson Oil has invested heavily in vehicles and loading systems which eliminate working at height, having vehicles equipped with modern bottom loading facilities, enabling our staff to work at ground level.
Improvements in our oil systems are only part of the answer we would like to ensure our customers tanks are also safe and encourage any new installations to be at ground level.
Environment
Patterson Oil aims to keep customers informed on environmental matters. This occurs most often in the installation and maintenance of oil storage tanks and ancillary equipment.
A document produced by the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers, ‘Get to know your oil tank‘, provides details advising on the best practice for the installation and maintenance of oil storage tanks.
